Six actors have portrayed secret agent James Bond on screen over the past 60 years, each putting their own spin on the role. As the search for the next 007 continues, Express.co.uk wants to know who is your favourite? Vote in our poll.
The first actor to play the iconic role on the big screen was Sir Sean Connery in 1962, with many considering him as the original and best. The late star played the character in the first five movies and reprised his role in the seventh installment, Diamonds Are Forever, in 1971.
Australian actor George Lazenby took over the role of 007 for the sixth movie, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, in 1969. Despite making an impression this was his only Bond film.
Sir Roger Moore portrayed Bond in seven movies – the most by a single actor. His 007 career spanned 12 years from Live and Let Die in 1973 to A View to a Kill in 1985 and showed a more light-hearted and elegant side to the character.
Following the long success of Sir Roger, Timothy Dalton took on the role for the next two films. He took a more serious approach in line with the character from the books which proved popular.

Pierce Brosnan was cast as the next 007, making his first appearance in GoldenEye in 1995. He starred in four films, and arguably brought a perfect blend of charm, danger and cheek to the role, before walking away in 2004.
The casting of the most recent Bond, Daniel Craig was questioned by many at the time but his performance in Casino Royale in 2006 was well received by fans and critics alike. His five movies have shown a grittier side to 007 and been more intelligent and action-packed than before.
His last appearance was in No Time to Die in 2021, and fans await to see his successor.
