Ravi Gulati is EastEnders new hunky villain who promises explosive twists

Earlier this week EastEnders fans met Ravi Gulati for the first time.

Now EastEnders have confirmed that the new character will become a regular on the soap and viewers can expect to see a lot more of him.

Chris Clenshaw, Executive Producer, said: "Ravi is captivating, cunning and dangerous, and can go from pleasant to menacing with very little warning – unlike Aaron who’s a wonderful addition to the EastEnders cast.

"We’re all excited to see Aaron bring the character to life and there’s plenty of drama and shocking twists in store – wherever Ravi goes, trouble follows.”

Ravi is expected to return to screens later this summer. Ahead of his return to Albert Square, here's everything you need to know about the soap's latest addition.

Who is Ravi Gulati?

Ravi Gulati is the son of the Panesar family's friend Ranveer.

Ravi is currently behind bars but is due to be released from prison soon.

While still inside, he crosses paths with Phil Mitchell, who was put behind bars after being accused of conspiracy to commit murder.

Phil knows that his life is at risk so turns to Ravi for help and offers to pay him for back-up.

But Ravi will only agree to the deal if Phil gets him some information about Kheerat, although why he wants this remains a mystery.

Upon being released from prison, Ravi will reunite with his father in an effort to help with the business.

However, it looks like the Panesars might not be happy to see him as the ruthless character begins to shake things up in the Square.

Who is Aaron Thiara?

Ravi is played by Aaron Thiara, a British stage and screen actor.

He's acted for the Royal Shakespeare Company and also appeared in the 2017 film The Boy with the Topknot.

Aaron made his first EastEnders appearance on Monday (July 4), but will soon make a return.

Speaking about being cast as a regular on the soap, he said: "My heart is filled with immense gratitude to be joining such an iconic show, working alongside a stellar cast and a remarkable production team,

"It’s a very proud moment for me and my family. This is a wondrous opportunity to approach as an actor, and I can’t wait for people to meet Ravi on screen and witness his roller-coaster of a journey!"

Fans were delighted that the hunky actor would be making a regular appearance on their screens and took to EastEnders' Instagram comments to express their feelings.

One viewer commented: "Oh OK then, if we really MUST have a hunky new character. Hope he gets a decent storyline with plenty of action".

While another gushed: "He looks gorgeous and hot".
