Rochelle Humes thought Marvin was having midlife crisis when he signed up to Im A Celeb

As Marvin Humes has reached the final five contestants on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, following Danielle Harold's departure this week, his wife Rochelle is now Down Under waiting to greet him when he leaves the jungle.

But the presenter, 34, admits that she doesn't quite 'get' the JLS star's reasonings for going on the show, even thinking that it could have been part of a 'midlife crisis'.

Talking on This Morning about how well Marvin is doing on the show, Rochelle explained: "I can't believe he did it to be honest with you! I thought he was having some midlife crisis! Normally people go and buy a fancy car, and he decides to go in the jungle, I still can’t get my head around it.

"But the fact that he’s done things that I never thought he’d do like jump out of a plane, that was just a massive deal because I just know how much that terrifies him – I still can’t believe he’s in there and quite what he’s done," she praised.

Continuing: "But I’ve loved watching it because he’s just been him. Anyone that knows him knows how calm he is, how level headed he is… but he’s quite competitive, especially with himself, so it’s there’s a star to be won I know he’ll go in and give it a good go – I can tell he’s not happy with the green ants.

"He’s just really calm and chilled and to be honest, I’ve missed that at home having three kids – it's all a bit crazy, I’ve missed the calmness. I've realised who’s the frantic one of the duo and it’s definitely me!”

Rochelle and Marvin tied the knot in 2012 after two years of dating, the pair now share kids Alaia-Mai, 10, Valentina, six, and Blake, three.

Marvin is clearly missing his wife of 11 years, and even got emotional reading the letter that she sent into camp for him.

Admitting that this came as a surprise, Rochelle also said: "We’ve been together 14 years and I think I’ve seen him cry four times, and it really threw me [with the letter] I thought he’d really like it and appreciate it but I did not think for one minute that he’d cry!"

"Obviously we work away sometimes, but we always talk, so the no contact has been really weird for me so to see him get really emotional, he’s obviously feeling it a little bit too…”

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 & ITVX
