Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) was charmed by Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) in Monday’s (March 20) instalment of Coronation Street.
Why is this an issue? Well, aside from the fact she’s married to Adam (Sam Robertson), Damon is the man who recently made Nick’s (Ben Price) life hell by dealing drugs through the Bistro deliveries.
And to make this story even more complicated, last week, Adam decided to take on Damon as a client as his business is struggling and, of course, a man who dabbles in dealing drugs is absolutely loaded.
Sarah made her thoughts on Adam representing Damon perfectly clear while in the pub with him and, feeling completely furious, took off to the hotel on her own.
Arriving at the bar, Sarah ordered a drink but failed to spot Damon, who had already asked for one.
They locked eyes and there was an immediate connection. Damon turned on the charm and eventually, they got talking.
Feeling somewhat out of character, Sarah then invited Damon to the hotel room.
However, inside, she found a sweet card from Adam and realised she was very close to making a huge mistake.
She sent Damon on his way, but he was interrupted by Adam in the lobby.
This small delay caused Sarah to walk in on them talking and once Adam introduced Damon, the penny dropped.
Sarah had a few choice words to say in Damon’s direction and as she headed home with Adam, it appeared the matter had ended.
That evening, after popping to the shop to get some wine, Sarah then met up with Damon in the ginnel and told him to stay away from her and her family.
Sarah was trying to be assertive, but Damon knew exactly what to do. There was a spark and Sarah was trying to ignore it, but the smirks certainly suggested otherwise.
So, they’ve parted ways – but will Sarah and Damon see each other again?
‘Sarah’s absolutely fuming that Adam would get involved with this guy,’ Tina O’Brien recently told us. ‘Adam understandably says it’s business and he needs the money but Sarah says look it’s not about the money, this is family and you’re basically siding with the guy that’s made my brother’s life hell.’
‘I’ve been trying to find some moral reason as to why Sarah would behave in this way and actually I’m not really sure there is one,’ she speculated.
‘So I’ve just decided to play it as an opportunity that’s presented itself, she’s at an age where maybe life feels a bit sensible, a bit boring, and then something has come along that’s kind of caught her eye a little bit.
‘She knows she shouldn’t, but she’s tempted anyway, and it’s as simple as that. These things happen, I’m not saying it’s right and Sarah knows that but I’m guessing she’s going to go there anyway.’
