Shameless star Elliott Tittensor looks unrecognisable with beard and ponytail

It has been a decade since Shameless ended and some of the cast have drastically transformed – but none more though than child star Elliott Tittensor who played young tearaway Carl Gallagher.

The Channel 4 hit show was a fan favourite from 2004 before ending in 2013 and followed the misadventures and lives of the Gallagher family and their notorious neighbours, based in Manchester.

Elliott and his real-life twin brother, Luke, 33, played Carl, the child thug with a thirst for trouble and drama, alongside boozy alcoholic dad Frank Gallagher (David Threlfall), long-suffering older sister and head of the family Fiona (Anne-Marie Duff) and brothers Lip (Jody Latham) and Ian (Gerard Kearns).

But fans were shocked to see how unrecognisable – and hot – Elliott is after all these years. The star, who once sported a shaved-in skinhead and clean face now boasts long flowing locks, a vast array of tattoos and a scruffy beard.

First appearing back on our screens in 2021 in Silent Witness as a far more sinister character, Elliott looked far more rugged and imposing as character Scott Weston, as he leaned over a balcony in grey prison-issued sweats.

Sporting a long straggly beard, the tattooed hunk has a legion won over fans on his Instagram with 32.7k followers, most of which can't get enough of his hot new look. Fire emojis and lovehearts are everywhere in his comments with one fan even asking him to 'marry her.'

Elliott, who once dated Skins' Kaya Scodelario, has grown his locks long naturally, which has worked well for his latest role in House of Dragons, a highly popular Game of Thrones spin-off.

Elliott, and his twin brother Luke, played a real set of identical twins in episode 9 of the spin-off as Ser Arryk and Ser Erryk Cargyll – two sworn knights of the Kingsguard.

Their parts proved emotional and tragic for fans with the twins divided and taken on opposite sides of the fictional war, with Arryk staying with the Greens and Erryk leaving to join Queen Rhaenyra and the Blacks.

Last year, Elliott referred to Game of Thrones on his Instagram as the "only series I've watched all the way through" and admitted how proud he was to be part of such a iconic and legendary show alongside his twin brother.

Fans will also remember Luke from his role on Emmerdale as Daz Eden and the sibling pair famously started out on old soap favourite, Brookside.

There was also an American version of Shameless, starring William H Macy which was also hugely popular, airing between 2011 and 2021.
