Soap star Nancy Frangione dies

US soap star Nancy Frangione, known for her roles in All My Children and Another World, has died at the age of 70.

The actress, known for her role as Cecile DePoulignac in Another World, died on August 18.

The cause of death is currently unknown.

Nancy’s TV debut came in the form of ABC’s All My Children. She played Tara Martin for two years (1977-1979) and then in 1981, swapped ABC for NBC to play Cecile in Another World.

Her TV credits also include the likes of One Life to Live and CBS’s The Nanny.

Back in 2020, it was revealed that former All My Children stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos were reportedly among the team developing a primetime continuation of the long-running soap opera.

However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, developing the show – titled Pine Valley – was significantly delayed.

Kelly and Mark famously played Haley and Mateo Santos in the drama, which aired for over four decades on ABC.

The American soap was set in the fictional Midwestern town of Bay City and followed the lives of the residents who would experience everything from love, loss and triumphs. It ran from 1964-1999, with it being taken off air due to low ratings.

Nancy and her co-star Christopher Rich were married from 1982-1996. They share one daughter together who is called Mariel.
