Stacey Dooley says marriage isn’t ‘important’ – ‘Kev’s done it a couple of times before’

It doesn't look like marriage is on the cards for Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton – the TV presenter has revealed that it's not "massively important" to her.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, 36, welcomes camera into her home with partner Kevin Clifton, 40, for the latest episode of W's Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over – and opens up about her relationship with the professional dancer.

While she gave birth to Minnie, her first child with Kevin, back in January, Stacey said that she's not interested in marrying her ballroom beau – particularly as he's tied the knot several times before.

"Marriage has just never been massively important to me," she said.

"And also obviously it's very well documented Kev’s done it a couple of times before so you do have to bear that in mind. Coming down the aisle, 'Hello everyone, I know what you're all thinking.'"

She added that marriage has never been something she's "dreamt about".

"I don't subscribe to the idea that you can offer more stability if you're married, because we know that loads of marriages end in divorce," she said.

Stacey and Kevin met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018 and went on to win the show together.

The couple started dating shortly afterwards and welcomed their first child Minnie in January this year.

However, Kevin has been married three times before, walking down the aisle with his Russian dance partner Anna Melnikova when the Strictly star was 20 years old.

They divorced in 2005 and Kevin married professional dancer Clare Craze the following year.

After the couple broke up in 2010, Kevin began dating his Burn the Floor and Strictly co-star Karen Hauer, who he married in 2015.

The dancing duo announced their separation in 2018 and Kevin found love with Stacey Dooley the year after.

Stacey recently revealed that her friends have jokingly given her the nickname of Anne of Cleves in reference to Henry VIII's fourth wife.

Stacey and Kevin headed on their first holiday with baby Minnie in tow back in February, heading on a family getaway to Cornwall.

"We ran away to Cornwall for a week," Stacey wrote on Instagram. "It was honestly SUCH a treat. There was zero hassle, zero pressure…just a slow, easy little staycay.

"We stayed in The Seamist .. SUPER comfy and such beautiful views. Was delighted @beachretreats … ta so so much. We got to take Minnie down to the water. Loved it."

And the pair may be looking to expand their family, with Kevin revealing that they're "already talking about Minnie needing a brother or sister".
