Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) as developed a scary obsession over Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) in EastEnders, and his behaviour is growing more and more concerning as the days go by.
Theo is seemingly never out of the Slater house for long, whether it be tutoring Lily Slater (Lillia Turner), helping Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) through his ADHD diagnosis or simply staying for tea.
What Stacey and the rest of the Slaters don’t know is that he is the anonymous client who has been paying for private video calls with her, following her decision to close down her Secret Cam account, where she was selling photos of herself online.
In recent scenes, Theo arrived for another tutoring session with Lily, but it soon became clear that he wasn’t interested in discussing Lord of the Flies.
With Lily working hard on an essay, Theo asked her if she found it difficult still studying while all of her friends were on their summer holidays.
He pointed out that even Stacey was off out, before suggesting that that may not be unusual, as she must have a dozen suitors lined up.
Clearly uncomfortable with the direction of the conversation, Lily turned his attention back to her essay.
However, that didn’t last long, as Stacey’s return from her date with Martin Fowler (James Bye) prompted another round of questioning.
He asked the 12-year-old whether Stacey and Martin were an item and listened intently as she explained that every couple of years they would get back together and ‘act like a pair of gooey teenagers’.
The creepy teacher continued to question her, while fiddling with the red negligee Stacey had hanging on a clothes horse to dry – one that she often wore during her video calls to Theo.
He insisted that it must be difficult for Lily and Stacey when her relationship with Martin is so strained, but just as he suggested that Lily open up to him about it, Stacey returned and interrupted their conversation.
She soon called an end to their day of studying, insisting that he must have somewhere better to be.
As he prepared to leave, he overheard her mentioning that she would be heading over to the Queen Vic, and soon Theo was making his own way there.
However, whatever he had planned was abruptly interrupted by a drunk Martin starting a fight, completely drawing Stacey’s attention.
Why exactly is Theo so obsessed with Martin and Stacey’s relationship?
Does he want her all to himself, and how far would he be prepared to go to make that happen?
