Star Wars Diego Luna shares huge update as Andor series two begins filming

Star Wars icon Diego Luna has revealed what fans can expect from the future of Andor, as filming on the second series gets underway.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star at the BAFTA Film Awards 2023, Diego revealed that the next season of Andor "will end the moment Rogue One starts" and that the start of Cassian Andor's journey into the person he became in Rogue One will be "explored."

Although Diego said he could not tease "much" about the new series, he explained: "I think what I love about Andor is that it’s its own. It’s meant to be something different. The same way Rogue One was meant to be just that.

"It has a beginning and an end. Andor is the same. It has a beginning and an end. The end everyone knows as it’s Rogue One."

Speaking about the upcoming series, Diego continued: "This next season ends the moment Rogue One starts.

"We’re not hiding anything, it is what it is. It’s about how Cassian Andor became the one you met in Rogue One – the start of that so it’s going to get explored."

Filming for Andor series two is currently taking place in London, with Diego and fellow stars including Adria Arjona spotted filming at the Barbican Centre.

When asked how filming was coming along, Diego replied: "It’s going great. It’s going amazing. It’s going the way we expected it to go."

He also thanked fans for their support and love for Andor, saying that the reaction "means a lot" to them.

"We are really happy to be doing the second season because it means a lot to us," said Diego.

"Now that the first season is out – the attention and the recognition that it got, it meant a lot to us and it means a lot to us everyday that we go back.

"Now we know there’s an audience out there. Now we know what we were doing was well received, and we’re just trying to work harder and harder to deliver something even better if possible."
