Strictly: Neil Jones plays Allen in Barbie routine
Strictly Come Dancing is known for its glitzy, colourful and elaborate outfits, but one of its professional dancers made a questionably bold fashion choice on this week’s Strictly: It Takes Two.
Neil Jones and Nadiya Bychkova joined host Janette Manrara on the latest instalment of the spin-off show to answer fans’ dance dilemmas. But it was Neil’s outfit that got the biggest reaction from viewers.
While Neil and Nadiya answered questions that fans had sent in via video messages, some were distracted by the male pro’s bold fashion choice.
Even though he was wearing a smart-fitted black suit and lace-up shoes, it appeared that he had forgotten to wear any socks.
And fans quickly took to social media to share their thoughts on Neil’s look.

One wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Neil, put those ankles away. What makes men think we want to see them?” (sic)
While another said: “Why is he casually not wearing any socks, it just looks so bad.”
A third added: “Can Neil please put on some socks?”
A fourth remarked: “Clearly not having a partner means you don’t get paid enough to buy socks….. #ittakestwo.”

A fifth concluded: “Nobody wants to see your ankles, it’s bizarre.”
His decision not to wear socks appeared to outshine the valuable dance advice that he and Nadiya were sharing with the public.
Could it be sleepless nights that caused him to forget his socks? Neil and his fiancé, former Love Island contestant Chyna Mills welcomed their first child, a daughter named Havana, earlier this month.
In an interview with Hello! Magazine, the former British, European and world champion revealed that even though he’s performing lively routines on Strictly every weekend, the couple are “running on not much sleep and pure joy.”
This series, both Neil and Nadiya were not paired up with celebrity partners. Out of the eight series that Neil has appeared in, he was only partnered up with a contestant for two of those years, with former professional footballer and presenter Alex Scott in 2019 and actor Nina Wadia in 2021, respectively.
Fans were more shocked not to see Nadiya paired up with a celebrity this year. However, both she and Neil will continue to take part in the group dances and during musical performances on the Sunday night results show.
Strictly: It Takes Two airs weeknights at 6:30pm on BBC Two.
