Janette Manrara confirms return to Strictly: It Takes Two
Strictly Come Dancing’s Amanda Abbington revealed the close bond she and professional partner Giovanni Pernice have despite previous rumours of a feud between them.
The pair joined It Takes Two presenter Janette Manrara on Wednesday night, where Amanda opened up on how rehearsals were going.
After playing a clip from Saturday’s show, Janette asked: “I have a question though because it feels like Giovanni wasn’t exactly focused on a certain part of the show, can you tell me what happened here, Giovanni?”
“Were you trying to distract?” she quizzed to which he laughed and revealed: “What’s the thing where you do that?…”
Knowing what he meant, Janette confirmed: “You gave her an ear… an earworm,” as Amanda replied: “Yeah an earworm, he does, he just keeps you on your toes.”

Janette laughed and added: “It honestly looks like you two are having the best time in rehearsals, getting along like a house on fire in rehearsals right?”
Immediately shutting down any feud rumours, Amanda agreed: “Yeah we are, we are! We do and we laugh a lot, we have the same sense of humour which is really important.”
“So we’ll come out, work hard, and then we just laugh don’t we,” leaving Giovanni to agree.
“We do have a good time, but at the same time, obviously we have to do our dance, it is a difficult process, especially for people who have never done it strictly before.”

“I always say it is a marathon, not a sprint, the first few weeks it is difficult, a lot of hours to train but then when you get to the Saturday and do what you did,” the dancer added.
Before the show had even begun, there were rumours which claimed Amanda and Giovanni were not getting along which led to Amanda threatening to quit.
A source claimed the pair were not getting along and had a series of arguments, with the Sherlock star apparently unhappy with Gio’s “militant” style.
They also claimed things were “incredibly tense” between them, but this was something Amanda’s representative immediately shut down.
Their chemistry in their dance on Saturday night also put the rumours to bed, with the judges stunned and emotional at how “beautiful” their storytelling was.
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday from 6:20pm on BBC One, with the results airing on Sunday from 7:15pm on BBC One.
