James Bye’s latest Strictly Come Dancing routine actually caught the attention of Guardians of The Galaxy director James Gunn, and fans can’t deal.
During Saturday’s live spectacular, the couples delivered routines to films ranging from The Little Mermaid to Dirty Dancing, Jurassic Park and West Side Story.
The Martin Fowler actor, 38, channeled Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord/Peter Quill character while his dance partner Amy Dowden dressed as Gamora (Zoe Saldana).
The pair danced a cha cha cha to the iconic Marvel theme tune, Hooked On A Feeling, and the judges scored their routine 22 out of 40.
Although judge Craig Revel Horwood said James’ dance ‘lacked hip action,’ filmmaker James – who has worked on hit movies like The Suicide Squad and Avengers: Endgame – considered adding his performance in the Guardians Of The Galaxy installment.
Sharing a snippet of his performance on Twitter, he wrote: ‘Can’t decide whether I should keep this scene in Vol 3. Let me know what you think below.’

Fans naturally freaked out by the special shout-out, with one writing: ‘I think it would be a suitable fit! Plus, no doubt it would start a social media trend!
‘James Gunn watches Strictly. Love it,’ another added.
‘Never thought I’d see the day @jamesgunn was tweeting about an Eastenders actor dancing on Strictly,’ one other wrote.
Saturday night’s Movie week special was certainly packed with several surprises.
Football legend Tony Adams stripped down to shorts to pay homage to comedy classic The Full Monty.
Beginning his routine in full uniform, the 55-year-old gradually removed items of clothing… continuing to inject energy into his Cha-Cha-Cha with an open shirt, cap and red sparkly shorts.
Elsewhere, Kiss FM DJ Tyler West received the first 10s of the series after wowing judges with his Charleston to Flash, Bang, Wollop! from the film Half a Sixpence.
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6:30pm on BBC One.
