At 6pm, the time the show would usually finish, the account tweeted a clip of the final chase and wrote: "What an intense Final Chase!" before explaining how the team got on in the final.
A video accompanied their final clip which saw Basil Brush, Sunetra Sarker, Matty Lee and David Arnold in a final round against Darragh Ennis.
The video revealed the final results leaving fans of the show furious over the major spoiler ahead.
Taking to Instagram one person wrote: "Spoiler alert," while another said: "Why tell us the result beforehand?!"
A third person said: "Someone's gonna get fired for this," while another added: "Well that's just ruined it for me lol."
Another fan added: "Badly time social media post – it's not on at 5pm tonight!"
Some fans of the show even claimed they were no longer going to watch the episode as they knew the result, with one person claiming it had "ruined their night".

Sharing a photo of the full team including host Bradley Walsh, the post read: "As if a Bank holiday weekend isn't great enough, we've also got a Celebrity Special of #TheChase in store for you tomorrow! Here is your first look at the stars preparing to take on a Chaser.
