THE Chase viewers were left scratching their heads after they noticed something rather bizarre about Tuesday evening's instalment.
Steve, Simon, Kelly, and Donna were welcomed onto the latest instalment of the ITV quiz show by host Bradley Walsh.
But as the episode got underway, eagle-eyed viewers noticed the episode was filmed "three years ago" and wondered why it had not been aired before.
Steve was the first player to face the Chaser after he raised £4,000 in his cash builder round.
Bradley introduced Darragh Ennis as "the new Chaser" on the show – even though his first episode aired in November 2020.
Darragh explained he was a former contestant on the programme who had the opportunity to be trained up as a Chaser.

As Steve made it through to the final with £4,000, viewers were quick to air their thoughts on the long lost episode.
Alongside an array of shocked-faced emojis, one person penned: "Wow. The Chase still has pre-March 2020 episodes? How long did they hold this series 13 episode back for?"
Echoing their comments, someone else said: "If this is new episodes of The Chase then why is there a lot of emphasis on Darragh being the new Chaser?"
While a third added: "Pre-Covid quiz shows look really strange with all the contestants sitting right next to each other."
The episode was number 161 from season 13 which was filmed in November three years ago.

Only one other instalment from series 13 has not aired on ITV, which is episode number 169.
The team answered 17 questions right in the finale, but they were, unfortunately, caught by Darragh with 12 seconds remaining.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
