The Chase quizzer Paul Sinha has recalled a very awkward mix up that happened with his co-star, Mark Labbett.

The 53-year-old genius took his spot at the podium for Tuesday’s episode of the ITV game show (July 4) as he prepared to take on four new contestants all fighting to take home a cash prize.

As player Alastair took Paul on during his head-to-head after an impressive cash builder round, he was asked a question about the Jewish term “long life” and what Jewish event the expression is used at.

After incorrectly answer Bar-Mitzvah, with the correct answer being funeral, Paul took the opportunity to recall a very awkward encounter between himself and fellow quizzer Mark ‘the Beast’ Labbett.

He told host Bradley Walsh and viewers at home about once being invited to make an appearance at a Bar Mitzvah due to the child being a huge fan of the show.

But he later discovered that Mark was the first choice of the Bar Mitzvah boy, but had to pull out at the last minute.

The family then begged Paul to show up as his replacement and he recalled the child being totally unimpressed with his arrival.

“I turned up and he couldn’t have looked any less excited,” quipped Paul.

The two chasers have appeared alongside each other the show for years and were once at the centre of a rumoured rift following Paul’s comment about Mark “f***ing his cousin”.

Paul, aka The Sinnerman, savagely mocked the show that made him famous and his fellow Chasers in a brutal comedy routine.

made fun of Mark Labbett, who he said was given the name 'The Beast' because he married his own cousin, Katie.

During a comedy gig in Lewisham, South East London, Paul said: "In 2011, I landed myself the dream job on the enduringly popular ITV quiz show The Chase

He then went on to jokingly explain how the other Chasers got given their nicknames.

Paul continued: "Anne Hegerty is called The Governess because she is bossy and cruel, and Mark Labbett is known as the Beast because he is f***ing his cousin. It is a distant cousin.”
