The Power is airing on Amazon Prime Video and the TV series explains how all teenage girls have developed the power to electrocute people at will. How many episodes are in The Power?
The Power is based on Alderman’s novel from 2016, which tells the story of women developing the ability to release electrical jolts from their fingers.
Through their unique special ability, they become the dominant sex in a matriarchal society.
The book was also named by The New York Times as one of the 10 Best Books of 2017 and those who have read it are excited for the small-screen adaptation.
Viewers will see Toni Collette as Margot Cleary-Lopez, the mayor of Seattle and John Leguizamo as Rob, Margot’s husband, to name a few cast members.
The first three episodes are set to air on Prime Video on March 31.

As for how many episodes there are in total, the first season is expected to have nine instalments.
After the premiere, one new episode will be released each Friday until the finale on May 12.
The trailer for the series has been released and it shows one of the female characters discovering her new ability.
While she is in the car, she sends an electric charge through her fingers whilst changing the radio station.

She was also responsible for blowing up the microwave at home due to her unique power.
The phenomenon seemed to have started in Nigeria when videos were filmed of women sending electricity through their hands.
After a series of experiments in transpires hundreds of thousands of women are experiencing the same thing.
A male journalist is keen to tell the story of the phenomenon, claiming it will change the world.

The mayor explains: “The world as we know it may never be the same” as more information comes to light.
Actress Toni Collette said how the series is unnervingly timely, even more so today than the book was in 2016.
She told Metro.co.uk: “Now it feels like the perfect moment for it to come out because so much of the show is aligned with so much that we’re actually experiencing in the real world.
“And for those who don’t find it palatable in the real world, it’s done in an entertaining way.
“You know, it’s sci-fi, and it’s one step removed but it’s kind of grounded in something very recognisable.
“I think people can look at it objectively, and have it creep up on them that these things are not right.
“They need amending, exploring, and adjusting, and it is a time of transition, and we can see ourselves in it. It couldn’t be better timing.”
Her character takes charge of the uprising as a politician who shuns guidance from her advisers so she can speak up for all women.
The Power airs on Amazon Prime Video from March 31.
