Fans on This Morning were left confused after a guest refused to leave the sofa after her interview ended.
Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary opened the ITV daytime show on Friday (September 29) with a tribute to Thunderbirds, which turned 58 years old. To celebrate the anniversary, the pair welcomed Mary Turner onto the show.
Mary had extensive experience on the show, acting as the puppeteer for iconic character Lady Penelope for the programme. During her interview, Mary spoke of her pride on working on the show, where she also helped in the design of characters, as well as controlling the puppets themselves.

Mary also showed off her puppeteering skills as Alison and Dermot spoke to her about the legacy the show has created. Since its original run of the show began in 1965, Thunderbirds has been reinvented into an animated children's show.
Alison and Dermot were clearly interested in the show and Mary's story, asking her about how she got into the industry. Mary explained that she was introduced to puppeteering during the Second World War, though she provided stunted answers which left the interview feeling rather awkward.
When asked about how her mother brought her into the profession, Mary said: "As soon as I saw the first puppet that she made, she made enough puppets for us to do a show around the local district. I always wanted to keep on working with puppets but I had to earn a living and puppeteering wasn't earning a living".
She added that she was proud to see a renaissance of support for the Thunderbirds, but said that she had not kept any real memorabilia from the original show. She explained: "We didn't think anything of it, we did the show or a series – and that was the end of it. There were no DVDs or anything – we just moved onto something else".
But after her interview segment ended, the presenters opted to fill viewers in on what was to come on the show on Friday. During this time, Mary had not left the sofa, but was braced and ready to stand up and leave the set.
Alison and Dermot went on to explain the show's schedule for nearly four minutes, during which 90-year-old Mary did not move from the sofa. Fans watching the show were bewildered by her stature and immediately took to social media to share their thoughts.
One viewer wrote on Twitter: "I think Mary wants to leave." A second user wrote: "Mary is probably thinking 'what the f**k am I still doing here?'"
Another person was concerned for Mary, writing: "The old girl on This Morning is gonna fall off that sofa in a minute." Whilst a second fan of the show joked: "Legend has it Mary is still on the This Morning sofa to this day."
