Three Emmerdale theories: resident becomes killer and abuse storyline | The Sun

ERIC Pollard recently revealed he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease – but could there be more to it?

Meanwhile, two Emmerdale characters have rubbed soap fans the wrong way and have them convinced they're up to no good.

1. Shock misdiagnosis

Interrogated over her potential involved in Craig Reed's brutal death in recent scenes of the ITV soap, Mandy Dingle (played by Lisa Riley) revealed a secret of another, more emotional, nature.

As viewers witnessed, the beautician was approached by an unsettled Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) who opened up about his Parkinson's disease diagnosis.

The long-standing villager swore Mandy to secrecy, determined to go through his health ordeal alone and described his symptoms to her.

However, when faced with the tear-jerking scenes, one fan has shared their doubts.

Emmerdale fans sob as 'terrified' Eric Pollard reveals life-changing news

The soap viewer questioned the budding storyline as Pollard explained his symptoms.

"There's nothing about Pollard which indicates Parkinson's & he wouldn't be given a diagnosis simply based on the symptoms he described to Mandy Dingle", they penned.

While this could be discarded as an error for soap bosses to fix, could they have an even bigger twist planned?

Could Pollard's condition be a warning sign for another, more serious disease?

Whatever the case may be, Pollard's relationship with Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) is in danger this week as he takes his frustrations out on her.

Devastated, Brenda seeks comfort and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) gives her a shoulder to cry on.

The village gossip encourages her to pick herself up and move on – by finding herself another man.

Brenda agrees but can Pollard save their romance before it's too late?

Will he tell her about his health issues?

2. New killer on the loose

Amit Sharma gets on Jai's bad side this week after his violent run-in with Nicky Milligan is exposed.

Former EastEnders star Anil Goutam joined the Emmerdale line-up as Suni and Jai's biological father after the latter learned that he was adopted.

Jai (played by Chris Bisson) struggled to come to terms with the revelation but the death of the man who raised him, his uncle Rishi Sharma, pushed him further towards acceptance.

But as mentioned above, this week, Jai and his wife Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) are horrified to hear from Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) that Amit attacked Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope).

In a shocking twist, they are also told that Nicky, who happens to be romantically bonding with Suni, Amit's son, was assaulted because of his homosexuality.

Jai and Laurel decide Amit's behaviour is unacceptable and immediately cut him out from their lives, convinced he is a violent homophobe and wanting nothing to do with him.

But regular viewers of the Yorkshire-based drama will remember the truth.

Nicky found out with a little help from Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) that Amit was present when Rishi Sharma fell down his stairs and to his death during the summer.

Viewers of the Yorkshire-based drama are speculating Amit could go to deadly lengths in a bid to keep his secret from being exposed.

"Amit could turn out to be the next big villain or serial killer as time goes on", one of them commented as another echoed: "I'm already loving Amit! But we better keep Nicky safe!"

A third added: "They should really do a flashback episode to the day Rishi died so we can see exactly what happened… Not believing Amit at all."

"Now, after that scene, I'm wondering if that's how Amit caused Rishis death, by punching him causing Rishi to lose his balance/footing on the stairs?", another fan questioned.

There's a Meena Jutla-shaped hole in the Dales and the eponymous village has remained somewhat at peace since the sinister nurse was thrown in prison.

Could Amit be another member of the Sharma family (Meena was Manpreet Sharma's sister and Rishi's sister-in-law) to keep her murderous legacy alive?

Will he kill to save his reputation?

3. Relationship takes dark turn

Viewers were horrified when Tom King (James Chase) became violent towards Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) in recent Emmerdale scenes.

The hunk proposed to his other half, sweeping their many issues under the rug, and when Belle pointed them out before adding they wouldn't be getting married at a great time, Tom proved he truly was Carl King's beloved son.

Belle was pushed and hit her head on a table but these were details she chose to exclude from the story she gave Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) to prove her alibi.

However, it was enough to leave soap watchers terrified for her safety and even her life as they've predicted a hard-hitting domestic abuse storyline.

"Looks like Tom is gonna be more abusive towards Belle in future", one of them theorised.

A second fan wrote: "A domestic abuse storyline for Tom and Belle?", while another agreed: "Had a horrible feeling that was where the storyline with Tom was heading. Poor Belle."

"I see a domestic abuse storyline coming up here with Belle and Tom" another penned with a sad face emoji.

This week, Tom has to face the reality of his mother's death and a funeral is in the works.

Belle encourages Tom to book flights for the even but fails to notice that he's troubled by the prospect.

In later scenes, Tom opens up to Belle about not wanting to go to his mum’s funeral alone.

He’s grateful when she agrees to accompany him but will they really set off to Saudi Arabia together?
