In a desperate attempt to stop his mum from marrying a murdering businessman, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) decides to take Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) hostage in Coronation Street.
Of course, right now, Tim has no idea that Stephen (Todd Boyce) has murdered Leo, Teddy and Rufus, but he’s never been keen on his mum’s new partner, worried he’s up to no good and will end up hurting her, so soon after the abusive relationship with Geoff.
Failing to listen to her son, Elaine has continued falling for Stephen and is also in the middle of planning her wedding.

As Elaine remains convinced that Stephen is the man for her, she ends up locking horns with Tim in upcoming episodes, and then agrees to fly out to Vegas that afternoon to marry her partner.
Sally (Sally Dynevor) is shocked and breaks the news to Tim, who then offers to run Elaine and Stephen to the airport, pretending that he’s accepted their plan to tie the knot.
However, as Tim lures Elaine into the taxi, he leaves Stephen on the doorstep and speeds away.
As Sally and Stephen watch in disbelief, can Tim put a stop to the wedding?
