Tipping Point viewers were relieved as ITV returned to its regular programming schedule this week – because it seems they were fed up of watching repeat episodes.
The popular gameshow, which sees players take on the coin machine in an attempt to win a huge prize pot of £10k, had seen a major shake-up last week due to a conflict with the popular horse racing coverage.
Tipping Point was booted off the air entirely for most of the week, leaving fans without their daily dose of the trivia show.
But as the show returned tonight, viewers were left rejoicing as the network finally aired brand new episodes instead of lots of repeats.
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls – after weeks of endless repeats, brand-new #TippingPoint is back!” one player announced.
“A special appearance by me today to herald the arrival of a NEW #tippingpoint according to the ITV schedule,” said a second.”
A third joined in the celebrations, penning: “It’s been a while, but it’s time for *BRAND NEW* Tipping Point!” as a fourth added: “Is it true? New series!”
The old format saw four players compete for the cash prize but viewers have often seen three players join Ben causing major confusion amongst fans.
One of the changes to the three player format includes all contestants automatically passing through to the second round.
As well as this, players now get 45 seconds to answer questions as opposed to the original 30 seconds.
During the original debut of the new format, many fans were torn, with some expression their negative views on the change.
One viewer blasted the show, saying: “Oh man, new series and it’s s****y three-player start, I don’t like it #tippingpoint.”
Another disgruntled viewer said: "Had enough of the constant changes. Bye tippers."
A third added: "Hate the new format!! Three contestants at the start then ALL go through to the next round, just c**p! Way too much talking between contestants!! That’s us done!! Will have to find something else to watch, should be easy though!!"
