Tonia Buxton’s daughter Antigoni says ‘stingy’ guys give her ‘ick’ as she enters Love Island villa

Antigoni Buxton has revealed what her biggest "ick" is ahead of her Love Island debut on Wednesday night’s episode.

It was teased on Tuesday that the daughter of famous chef Tonia Buxton was heading into the villa, leaving this year’s contestants floored.

When asked why she chose to apply for the show this year, the 26 year old singer said: “I’ve been single for almost a year and a half and for the whole of the last year my goal has been to have as many different experiences as possible. I really just want to say ‘yes’ to things. Why not? It’ll be fun. I’m a Cypriot girl and I love being in the sun. I’ve got nothing to lose!”

As to what she’s going to bring to the villa, Antigoni promised to bring “positive vibes”.

She also revealed that she has a competitive side, however.

“In life generally, I am quite competitive – I get really serious over Christmas Day Monopoly,” Antigoni said.

She continued: “It’s not my intention to tread on anyone’s toes but if I feel the energy from somebody and that connection then in a very open and honest way, I will explore that but I’ll be transparent with everyone in the situation.”

Doubling down on her need to feel someone’s energy, Antigoni said she doesn’t have her eye on anyone in the villa yet because she wants to meet them in person.

“I won’t know who I’m feeling until I get in there,” she shared. “I need to meet somebody in person and see their energy and vibe.”

As to what gives the blonde beauty the “ick”, she revealed that it’s someone being “stingy”.

Antigoni explained: “Someone who is stingy [gives me the ick]! It’s not about money but I think being stingy is a character trait and it coincides with someone who is quite selfish with their time.”

Ahead of her debut tonight, Antigoni’s mum Tonia shared a heartfelt tribute to her daughter.

Posting a collection of snaps, the proud mother wrote on her social media account: "I can not believe that my @antigoni is in the Love Island Villa, she mentioned she would be sunbathing this week I didn’t think she meant in Mallorca!

"We are all so excited for you and know you will be amazing! You have always been an island girl, so I know you will fit right in!"

Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
