Top Boy: Season 3 official trailer on Netflix

Top Boy may be done and dusted with but fans are still scratching their heads on what happened to Stef’s best friend Ats.
Season three was released last month, bringing the story of the Summerhouse gang to a close for good, much to Netflix subscribers’ disappointment.
While there was plenty for fans to get their teeth into, some are still thinking about the previous series, paying particular attention to how teenager Ats’ (played by Keiyon Cook) came to a close.
What happened to Ats in Top Boy?
At the beginning of season two, Ats was nowhere to be seen with his family looking for him – that is until his body was discovered in a skip.
Jaq (played by Jasmine Jobson) headed up the gang members trying to find out who murdered him in order to get justice but the truth had to do with what happened in the previous series.

Dushane (Ashley Walters) wanted to get Jamie (Micheal Ward) off the streets for a while and so came up with a plan.
He blackmailed Ats to plant drugs in Jamie’s house while he was visiting Stef (Araloyin Oshunremi) so the police could be called and the gangster subsequently arrested.
What Ats did was found out and Stef was furious at his best friend for the betrayal but there were far more serious consequences to come.
Fast forward to series two and Jaq finds some CCTV footage which shows Ats being bundled into the back of a car.

Thanks to the footage, she is able to track down the car which, in turn, leads to Jamie’s best friend Kit (Kadeem Ramsay).
It eventually comes out that Kit ordered his friend Dexter (Micah Loubon) to rough up Ats to try and “teach him a lesson” for trying to set Jamie up.
But the encounter went too far and Dexter ended up killing Ats and, unsure of what to do, threw his body into the skip.
Kits may have not been the one to kill Ats but he certainly paid the price as well.

Dushane was keen to work with Jamie again and needed him to prove his loyalty so calls for him to murder Kits for what he did.
Jamie was unsure of what to do at first, telling Kits they would run away together and start afresh somewhere else.
It was when the pair were alone in a car together that Jamie pulled out his gun and fatally shot Kits, covering the car’s windows with his blood.
