There’s a big day for Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) next week as she finally walks up the aisle to marry Phill Whittaker (Jamie Kenna).

But in Jennie’s own words, the wedding is ‘doomed’ – and this new Coronation Street clip appears to confirm this.

As Fiz stands by her groom, he is rocked by what he sees, telling her he is the luckiest man alive.

But Fiz looks a bit less enthusiastic, and it seems like the painted smile is more strained than the digestive system after curry night.

As the ceremony commences, the infamous ‘does anyone have any legal reason to stop the wedding’ type line rings out.

The typical death knell for any soap wedding.

Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) has been aggressively trying to open her tin of mints and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) admonishes her.

Suddenly, they go everywhere, and Fiz turns in the direction of her ex, the ceremony halted.

False alarm for now – but why does Fiz look somewhat disappointed?

The bride is in two minds after a revelation from Tyrone, Jennie told us.

‘It’s just before the wedding,’ she revealed.

‘It’s not a total shock to her when he says that as he has been making it totally obvious that he’ll like it to get back to normal for the past few weeks, months.

‘So it’s not a total shock when he says he wants to get back together, but the timing is pretty lousy.

‘But she still wants to marry Phill…’

Is it the right thing, though? And will it go ahead without a hitch?
