Vanessa Feltz eyes up Love Island stint – but says you won’t catch her in bikini

Vanessa Feltz has said she'd "love to host" the Love Island spin-off for the older generation – but viewers won't catch her in a bikini.

ITV confirmed they were were making the dating show for older contestants, announcing the show's name as The Romance Retreat and calling for older singletons to apply.

Upon hearing the news, Betway asked Vanessa if she'd be up for joining the show as a contestant following her heartbreaking split from "cheating" ex-fiancee Ben Ofoedu earlier this year.

She candidly replied that she thought it were best to "spare the viewers the sight of her in a bikini", saying: "I think the nation has been very, very good to me over the years.

"I think the lovely, beautiful nation of viewers need to be spared the sight of me in a bikini!"

When asked if she would be up for the hosting spot, Vanessa put herself forward, admitting she'd "love" to take on the gig which has already been eyed up by Ulrika Jonsson and Davina McCall.

Applications for the show close at the end of March, with ITV calling for "vibrant single parents" to join.

The casting call reads: "ITV1 are looking for vibrant single parents from across the UK who are in search of love, for a brand-new dating show!

"This is the ONLY dating show where single parents can search for love, by spending time in a luxury retreat, where all the parents have been nominated by their grown-up children."

Following the same format as Love Island in terms of voting for favourite couples and winning a cash prize, the show will ship the single parents ready for love off to a luxury retreat to finally find the person of their dreams.

Speaking to Steven Bartlett about the show, Davina said: "I could fill a villa in Love Island with middle-aged people with the best backstories you have ever heard in your life. They've lived a life – they're widows, they're people who have been through horrific divorces.

"They are people who have split up with somebody and decided they want to try going out with somebody the same sex as them. They're like interesting people. I'd watch that show."
