Watch heart-wrenching moment man fulfils mum's dying wish against all odds on Long Lost Family | The Sun

THIS is the heart-wrenching moment a man fulfilled his mother's dying wish against all the odds on Long Lost Family.

The latest episode of the ITV series saw Simon Miller, 49, from Putney, south west London, search for his sister.

He had grown up with his older brother David – who did not want to be filmed – and their mother Beverly.

However Beverly also had a daughter, Bronwen, who she gave up for adoption after the relationship she was in ended and she had a breakdown.

Beverly sadly died of cancer in 2008, but her dying wish was for her sons to find their sister and tell her she was loved.

Simon revealed he had first found out about his sister, who was born after David and before he came along, when he was 14.

Beverly had looked after Bronwen for the first 14 days of her life, and Simon revealed she had "punished herself ever since" for having gave her up for adoption.

While Bronwen knew about older brother David, she had no idea she had a younger sibling until she was contacted by the Long Lost Family team.

When the time came for the pair to meet for the first time, Simon gave his sister a big hug and a kiss before saying: "I love you."

She told him she loved him too, before an emotional Simon told her: "[Mum] said she made the right choice because she wanted you to have a good upbringing and she couldn't give you [one]."

Bronwen admitted she had found out about David when she was 12, revealing: "Mum sat me down and said that I had a brother, she found that really, really hard to tell me and I found it hard to accept."

She revealed how she had felt rejected, wondering why Beverly had kept David but given her up, but after Simon explained what had really happened, her mindset changed and she said: "it couldn't have been easy for her to give me up".

The siblings then held each others faces and started comparing features, deciding they had similar noses and dimples.

Simon covered his mouth and shock and said: "I just can't believe I've got my sister. You ain't getting rid of me."

Meanwhile Bronwen was delighted and said: "He said he loved me and I love him. He's my brother."

Long Lost Family airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
