Who is Layton Williams?

Layton Williams was born on September 13, 1994 in Bury, Greater Manchester, England.

He is an actor, singer and dancer, skills that will be useful on Strictly Come Dancing.

He attended Carol Goldby's Theatre workshop in Bury where he studied street dance and drama.

He also went to Centre Pointe, Manchester and studied ballet.

After winning a scholarship, Layton attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School in Marylebone, London until 2008.

The Sylvia Young Theatre School is a performing arts school that has also taught other notable house names such as Amy Winehouse and Jesy Nelson.

He also attended Broad Oak High School in Bury and the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.

How long was Layton Williams starring in Billy Elliot for?

Layton played a young Michael Jackson in the West End's Thriller – Live before he outgrew the role.

He debuted in the Billy Elliot the Musical on February 26 2007 after training at the Billy Elliot Academy in Leeds.

He did lots of promotion for the show, and his training was documented on The Paul O'Grady Show.

He starred in his finale performance on November 29 2008 and is still the second-longest running performer as Billy.
