OVER the years, Coronation Street has seen many evil killers grace their cobbles.
But one of Corrie's most prolific baddies has to be Richard Hillman.
Who is Richard Hillman?
Richard Hillman is one of the most infamous Corrie villains and was on the soap from 2001-2003.
He was married to Gail Platt and although he seemed charming at first he soon showed his darker side.
First of all he decided to go after Audrey Roberts' money by setting her house on fire and making it look like she was insane.
After his attempts to murder Audrey failed he decided to kill Emily Bishop instead so he could inherit her house and money.

When she caught him red handed he said the infamous line "you should have stayed at the party Maxine…" before battering her to death.
After confessing his crimes to Gail, Richard attempted to murder the entire Platt family by tying them up in the car, gassing them and then driving them into the canal.
Gail, David, Sarah and Bethany survived the ordeal but Richard drowned.

Is Richard Hillman returning to Coronation Street?
It's unlikely that Richard will ever returned to Weatherfield since he's six foot under – Gail and Audrey identified his body.
In 2006 Gail started receiving letters from "Richard Hillman" but this just turned out to be David Platt playing a cruel prank.
However some viewers were confused by the reappearance of Gail and Audrey's ex Lewis Archer in 2018 and mistook him for Richard Hillman.
One viewer tweeted: "Richard Hillman, REALLY?! Desperate script writing…. reminds me of Dallas, it was all a dream."
The speculation about his return continued when Brian Capron was spotted sitting next to Helen Worth, who plays Gail, at the British Soap Awards.
But his appearance was just down to the fact that his canal car crash was nominated for the Greatest Moment award, and Corrie has no plans to bring Richard back from the dead.
Did Richard Hillman put a curse on the Platt family?
Psychic Rosemary (Sophie Thompson) arrived in Weatherfield in 2018.
At first Audrey was convinced that she was channelling genuine messages from her late husband Alf.
Then she turned her attention to Gail and told her that Richard Hillman had put a curse on the entire Platt family from beyond the grave.
However Roy Cropper later exposed Rosemary as a fraud.
Who played Richard Hillman?
The evil killer was played by Brian Capron, who had actually previously appeared in the soap in the 80s as a social worker.
As Richard, the actor was on Corrie for two years from 2001 until 2003.
Before that he was best known for playing Mr Stuart "Hoppy" Hopwood in Grange Hill.
Since leaving the show he has appeared in various stage show tours, and also competed on Strictly.
