During filming of a dramatic scene for the upcoming buddy cop comedy movie, the Oscar winner is seen talking to his co-star who is standing on an 8-story ledge while wearing a hospital gown.
AceShowbiz -Some things will apparently take an emotional toll on Detective Lieutenant Marcus Miles Burnett in an upcoming “Bad Boys” movie. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have been spotted filming a dramatic scene for “Bad Boys 4” as they were pictured filming together for the first time.
The two actors were seen on the set in Atlanta on Wednesday, May 17. In images which have circulated online, both of them were fully in character as Detective Lieutenant Michael Eugene “Mike” Lowrey as and his partner/best friend Marcus respectively.
During the filming, Lawrence was screaming on an 8-Story Ledge wearing a hospital gown that blew in the breeze. Smith appeared to be trying to talk him down before the two shared an emotional hug.
Smith and Lawrence announced that “Bad Boys 4″ got a green light” in late January. “Bad Boys for Life” directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah return to helm from a script by Chris Bremner. Jerry Bruckheimer, Smith for Westbrook, Doug Belgrad and Chad Oman are back producing, with Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman and Jon Mone serving as executive producers.
The plot is still kept under wraps, but Vanessa Hudgens has been confirmed to return as Kelly, a weapons expert of AMMO. Meanwhile, Eric Dane has been cast as the villain.
In April, Smith and Lawrence hyped the excitement for the upcoming movie when appearing in a video during CinemaCon. Lawrence joked, “We’re not sorry we couldn’t be there,” but Smith quickly interjected, “We glad we not there because we here and they’re paying us to be here,” noting that they were “hype” and “excited” for “Bad Boys 4”.
No release date is set for the fourth installment of the “Bad Boys” franchise, which kicked off with the first film in 1995, just yet.
“Bad Boys 4” is the first movie that Smith has been filming since he was embroiled in drama regarding his behavior at the 2022 Academy Awards. At last year’s ceremony, he slapped Chris Rock on stage when the comedian joked about Jada Pinkett Smith‘s shaved head while presenting an award.
The “King Richard” star kept a low profile in the next few months following the incident, during which he reportedly had the “best time” of his life. “After Will did his smack, Will got to travel. Will got to step outside of all this stuff and when he was back he said – best rest he’s ever gotten. Best time he got to sit back and look at things,” his friend and “Bad Boys 3” co-star John Salley said in an interview with VladTV. Furthermore, Smith’s expulsion from the Academy meant that “now you can just make movies because you love to make movies,” according to Salley.
