TV personality Craig Phillips has recalled one of his worst 60 Minute Makeover experiences, when a guest refused to have their home transformed, despite it already being "gutted".
The 51-year-old appeared as a builder on the hit ITV interior-based programme, which aims to completely makeover someone's home in only an hour.
However, things took a drastic turn for the worst when filming one particular episode, as a guest on the show didn't actually want a TV home makeover.
Craig, who is a professional builder and is currently an ambassador for paint brand Frenchic, described the embarrassing incident and said it had never happened before.
Talking exclusively to Daily Star, he said: "There was just this one occasion where we couldn't do what we were sent there to do, but we had to respect his decision – he didn't want us in his house full stop."
He went on: "Picture the scene, we got there that morning, fourteen to fifteen of us, we've closed the road off, they cancelled all the police, we've got like probably ten or fifteen fans, we've got removal vehicles, we've got skips.
"And in that first hour, we already know what's going and what isn't. So the kitchen was coming out, we had removal stickers on.
"So we had gone a few minutes in with crowbars and we were ripping the entire kitchen out!"
He added: "So when you start there's no turning back and somewhere down the road there's a new kitchen and our team are now setting all the legs up and setting the carpet up and getting all the worktops ready for us to fit it."
However, Craig, who became the first ever UK Big Brother winner said things came to a dramatic halt when the owner of the house told them to stop.
He said: "The kitchen now is flattened, the bedroom units are out in the street piled up in the skips and were not careful as we're taking out because we know it's scrap at this point, you know."
The star then added: "The gentlemen whose house we were at got wind of it and decided I'm not having this, I'm coming back."
Craig went on to explain that the gentleman, who no longer wanted to take part in the show, was also refusing for producers to make amends by giving him the new furniture and permitted the crew from entering the premises.
When asked if he would ever do the show again, Craig admitted that due to having a family now he would find it more difficult to do.
Craig and his wife welcomed their first child together, Lennon Thomas in 2021.
The star is currently working with company Frenchic has become the UK’s fastest-growing chalk paint brand.
