Ex-Scotland striker Ally McCoist is fined £510 for speeding in two separate 30mph zones
- McCoist, 61, could have lost six points following the two incidents on January 6
- Instead, he received a four-point reduction as a result of his two guilty pleas
Rangers legend Ally McCoist has been fined £510 after being caught speeding twice in one day.
The striker, 61, was clocked driving at 48mph in a 30mph zone in Tarbet, Argyll, on January 6 this year.
He was then nabbed later going at 55mph in a separate 30mph zone on the A83 in nearby Arrochar.
McCoist, of Renfrewshire, appeared at Dumbarton Justice of the Peace Court and admitted both speeding offences.

McCoist was caught twice in quick succession speeding along the banks of Loch Lomond
He was fined £200 for speeding in Tarbet and £310 for the Arrochar incident.
Four penalty points were also slapped onto his licence.
A court source told MailOnline: ‘He would have received six points but this was reduced because he pleaded guilty to both offences.’
McCoist was given one month to pay the fine.
Earlier this month McCoist was cleared by a judge of having to pay part of a £244,000 claim brought by an insurance company over his son’s dangerous driving.
Lord Menzies concluded that McCoist’s son Argyll should settle the sum which Aviva sued for following the December 2016 incident.
The Court of Session heard lawyers for the firm say that McCoist failed to stop uninsured Argyll from driving an Audi A1 which struck Stephan Murdoch in Bishopton in December 2016.
Argyll later pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and causing serious injury by driving dangerously in a high-speed hit and run.
But the court also heard McCoist’s wife Vivien testify that she had heard her husband repeatedly tell his son not to drive the Audi car which he later used.
McCoist spent 15 years at Ibrox and scored 251 goals for the club in 418 appearances.
He also had spells at St Johnstone, Sunderland and Kilmarnock.
McCoist was assistant manager to Walter Smith at both Scotland and Rangers and also had a spell in the Ibrox hotseat between 2011 and 2014.
He is now a pundit and commentator and regularly appears on ITV, TNT Sports and Amazon Prime.
