Amy Schumer has pulled no punches in her new Netflix special ‘Emergency Contact,’ including ones her lawyers and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have explicitly told her to pull.
The 42-year-old comedian does a lengthy bit about Alec and Hilaria Baldwin in the hour-long special, during which she delivers several jokes about the fatal shooting on the set of ‘Rust,’ with which Alec was involved.
In a joke that was banned by the Oscars two years ago, when Schumer acted as one of the hosts, the comedian said: ‘Don’t Look Up’ is the name of a movie? More like don’t look down the barrel of Alec Baldwin’s shotgun.
‘I wasn’t allowed to say any of that, but you can just come up and [slap] someone,’ she said, referencing the infamous moment when Will Smith stomped onto to stage and slapped Chris Rock across the face.
Schumer, who has previously poked fun at Hilaria on Instagram for a number of idiosyncratic, attention-seeking behaviors, laid into the Baldwins in her new hour-long special on Netflix

On Wednesday, the day after Schumer’s special was released on Netflix, Hilaria Baldwin was spotted out-and-about in New York City with two of her young children in tow.
Baldwin, a mother of seven, appeared ready for summer, wearing a pair of jean shorts overalls, a tank top, and flip flops. Her hair looked lightened for the warmer months and she sported a pair of oversized sunglasses.
She looked as though she was struggling to wrangle both of the children she was with at the same time. One of them was strapped to her chest, and the other at first walked beside her mother, but was eventually scooped up and carried by Hilaria.
Alec and Hilaria share seven children — Carmen, nine; Rafael, seven; Leonardo, six; Romeo, five; Maria, two; Eduardo, two; and Ilaria, eight months — while Baldwin also shares his eldest daughter, 27-year-old Ireland Baldwin, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.
Beyond the Rust shooting joke, Schumer spends several minutes of her special monologuing about Hilaria and her questionable relationship with her Spanish heritage.
Back in 2021, when it emerged that the former yoga teacher had been spinning tales for years about her Spanish heritage, Schumer poked fun at the semi-scandal by posting a photo of herself in a beachy look and wrote: ‘I get it. I went to Spain a couple times.’
Schumer had previously mocked a lingerie-clad, near-naked photo Baldwin had posted to her Instagram cradling her newborn.
Schumer shared the image of Baldwin her child Edu, and joked that it was a photo of herself and her then-recently born son Gene.
Eventually Schumer deleted both of the posts because she didn’t ‘want to be mean,’ but admitted that she thought the scandal was ridiculous.

Waiting for her time to strike, Schumer told her audience in ‘Emergency Contact’ that she’d met Hilaria ‘years ago’ backstage at SNL where she told her she was ”from España,’ (with) a very thick Spanish accent.’
She continued making fun of the couple, saying: ‘They have a von Trapp amount of children, and they named them all – I’m not sure, but very Spanish names like Jamón, Croqueta and Flamenco.
‘And all of this would be fine and beautiful, except that ‘Hilaria from España’ is actually Hillary from Boston. This woman is in no way Spanish. Her parents are not from Spain. No one in her life is from Spain. You’re going, ‘What?!’ Did you think I was just doing a really racist Spanish impression?
‘So, I’m not trying to bully a sociopath. I have a point, OK? I think what had happened was she went to Spain. And I’ve been lucky enough to go to Spain. Some of you have been. It’s great, right? Don’t you love it? I loved it, too. But Hillary from Boston … loooved it!’
‘My point is that all evidence points to this woman, since she met her husband, has straight up pretended to be from Spain. And her husband shot someone… find someone who can stand you.’

Schumer mocked Hilaria’s Spanish heritage scandal in 2021
The original controversy erupted following a viral Twitter thread that made accusations about how Hilaria had been misrepresenting her background for years.
Posted by an anonymous user, the tweets began, ‘You have to admire Hilaria Baldwin’s commitment to her decade long grift where she impersonates a Spanish person.’
It was liked 20,000 times and led to dozens of people finding examples of Baldwin using a Spanish accent, a jarring contrast to her childhood in Boston where she was known as Hillary and considered white by her classmates.
Several videos of Hilaria’s past TV appearances resurfaced showing her commitment to a Spanish accent, including one Today show segment during which she seemingly forgot the English word for ‘cucumber’.
A number of Hilaria’s former classmates also came forward to confirm that she was in fact raised in Weston, Massachusetts, by professor parents – and did not have a hint of a Spanish accent during her childhood and teen years.
‘I went to high school with her. Genuinely lovely person, I recall, but fully a white girl from Cambridge,’ one wrote.

The release of the special and the lambasting of the Baldwins comes mere weeks after Alec Baldwin reached a settlement with the son of Halyna Hutchins – the cinematographer who was shot dead on the set of Rust.
She died when a prop Colt .45 pistol was accidentally loaded with a live round and apparently fired at her by the actor, in October 2021.
Baldwin has consistently maintained that he never pulled the trigger on the gun, which should not have had live ammunition placed in it at any point in the production.
In April, prosecutors in New Mexico dropped involuntary manslaughter charges that were filed against Baldwin.
The charges were shelved after a new prosecutor reviewed evidence indicating that the gun could have fired without the trigger being pulled, according to The New York Times.
