The Daily Mail’s Andrew Pierce has suggested disgraced MP Matt Hancock has ‘woven his magic’ to get the British public back on side and could now win I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Discussing the former Health Secretary’s chances of being crowned winner of the reality show, Andrew admitted he could now see Mr Hancock triumph over the other contestants.
Jungle Confidential, our daily video podcast about all things I’m a Celebrity, is available Monday-Friday on MailOnline, and on our YouTube channel. It will also be available as a podcast via all your favourite streaming services and Mail+, completely free.
Andrew told podcast host Katie Hinds: ‘I’ve got a horrible feeling he is going to win.
‘The revelation, of course, has been how a clever politician has woven his magic. That’s why he’s got a majority of over 23,000. It’s why he was in the Cabinet.
‘He has beguiled, he has charmed, he has got people feeling sorry for him. Politicians are different to the rest of us, they’ve got thick skin and many faces and he has shown quite a few of those faces in the jungle.’
Ofsted has been hit with more than 1,500 complaints in recent weeks with viewers railing against the treatment of the West Suffolk MP.
Many of the complaints stem the poor treatment of Hancock by stars such as Boy George, who was openly critical of the former Tory whip’s participation in the show.
On the pop star’s departure from the show, Andrew said: ‘He was unpleasant, nasty, bullied Matt Hancock… I’m a fan of Boy George. I went to see him in the 1980s, admired the fact he came out at a time when people wouldn’t. I met him, he was a nice bloke.
‘But what happened to him in that jungle? He was deeply unpleasant and he’s used Matt Hancock as an excuse. His true personality has shone through everyday, he was a bully and he was spiteful.’

Andrew’s prediction came as Boy George became the fourth campmate to be evicted from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! after the homesick singer was named in the bottom two after the public had cast their votes along with radio DJ Chris Moyles.
The diva-like pop star, 61, became the fourth celebrity to be voted off the show on Tuesday night, and is ‘desperate’ to go home but is contractually obliged to stay in Australia until the ITV series has ended and has been refused permission to fly back to the UK.
He also snubbed doing ITV’s post-exit interviews, failing to make an appearance on any of the channel’s morning shows the day of his eviction.
Sources close to the Karma Chameleon star told MailOnline: ‘He wanted to go home immediately, he doesn’t want to hang around.’
In his exit interview following his departure on Tuesday night, the Culture Club icon admitted: ‘I am sort of ready. I had an amazing time and I’ve done a lot of things I thought I’d never do. I’m excited to see my sister.’
George described his time in the jungle as ‘beautifully challenging’ and ‘somewhat enlightening’, saying it had allowed him to go on an ‘inner journey’.
On how he managed to keep himself sane in the camp, he said: ‘I had to forget who I was the whole time I was in here, I had to let it go. I just had to get over it.
‘I just had to say, “I’m in the jungle, I’ve had no control.”
‘Being really honest, I am happy to go today. It’s not something I thought I would ever do but it’s a lot tougher than I thought.
‘I think it really makes you appreciate what you have and the people that you love.’
The musician said he would like to see former rugby player Mike Tindall or ex footballer Jill Scott win.
Of Mike, he added: ‘He’s been the most stoic, he’s done the most. I think he’s much wilder than he lets on,’ before concluding: ‘I think Mike or even Jill.’

Belting it out: The campmates were given an unexpected night out at the legendary Jungle Arms pub in the episode, taking part in a game of beer pong to win treats and snacks
It comes as I’m A Celebrity viewers were left cringing on Tuesday night after watching Matt Hancock belt out a Queen song during a karaoke session.
The campmates were given an unexpected night out at the legendary Jungle Arms pub in the episode, taking part in a game of beer pong to win snacks.
While enjoying their treats, the celebrities all took turns in showing off their vocal talents in a karaoke session, with Matt singing Queen’s classic I Want To Break Free.
However, viewers were left cringing at the former Health Secretary’s performance, joking that they would be ‘praying’ to never see him take to the mic again.
With just days to go before the winner of the hit series is crowned, presenters Ant and Dec stunned the nation when they announced on Tuesday night’s episode that there will no longer be a camp leader – a position previously held by both Mike Tindall and Mr Hancock.
On Sunday the winner of this series will be announced in the final – with Owen Warner, Mike Tindall, Matt Hancock, Jill Scott, Chris Moyles, Seann Walsh and Babatunde Aleshe currently still remaining in the jungle.
