AT least five people have been shot at Morgan State University after gunfire allegedly erupted through a dorm window.

Officials in Baltimore, Maryland have confirmed that there are multiple victims after a shooting took place at the university on the night of its homecoming coronation.

Four men and one woman, of the ages 18-22, are among the victims, according to cops.

Four of the victims are students of Morgan State University.

Baltimore police confirmed shortly before midnight that the situation is no longer active.

Baltimore Mayor Brandon M. Scott confirmed that while the active shooter threat is over, the investigation is ongoing.

Police said the shooting happened outside the University and no arrests have been made so far.

Lance Hatcher, the Morgan State University Police Chief, told reporters: "We did not locate the suspect at this time."

It's not known if the shooter has any links to the university.

Morgan State lifted its on-campus shelter-in-place order just after 12.30am.

The university confirmed in an earlier post that an investigation is ongoing.

"Please Note: An active investigation is currently underway related to a report of shots being fired on or near campus," the message began.

"Please stay clear of the area surrounding Thurgood Marshall Hall and the Murphy Fine Arts Center and shelter in place."

Baltimore City Council Member Ryan Dorsey wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "It’s believed there were three shooters firing into the crowd, none apprehended or ID’d at this time."

Police were going door-to-door inside Thurgood Marshall Hall, a dormitory building where the shooting reportedly took place, according to local Fox affiliate WBFF.

Footage from inside that dorm posted to X showed SWAT teams checking each individual room, where students were reportedly on lockdown for hours.

Baltimore police and school officials have asked students' family members to avoid the campus area and instead go to the Safeway parking lot at 4401 Harford Road.

SHATTERED GLASS

Initial calls came in at about 9pm, according to WBFF.

Dozens of emergency vehicles were spotted at the scene.

A witness told the outlet that he was standing in the parking lot of Thurgood Marshall Hall on the campus when he heard glass shatter and gunfire.

Helicopters were also observed in the area broadcasting a message for students to shelter in place.

Footage from the scene showed at least one window of a campus building pierced by bulletholes.

It is unclear if the shooting happened from the building or if it was aimed at the dorm.

Maryland State troopers, the FBI, and ATF officials have arrived at the scene.
