A BRIT dad has died after being hit by a truck in Thailand while on the phone to his horrified girlfriend.
Jay Bridgehouse, from Stockport, Greater Manchester, suffered severe injuries when he was knocked off his motorbike while on the "trip of a lifetime".
The 32-year-old was rushed to hospital following the crash in the early hours of February 26 and was dashed into emergency surgery.
Doctors had expected dad-of-five Jay to wake up within four to six hours following the operation but he slipped into a coma.
Tragically, he died five weeks later on March 18 after catching pneumonia and suffering a second bleed to the brain, reports Manchester Evening News.
Jay's heartbroken girlfriend Naomi was forced to hear the collision as he'd forgotten to hang up the phone moments earlier.
