Spring finally arrives…but don’t put that brolly away yet! Britain will bask in balmy 15C temperatures by the end of this week but heavy rain will sweep across the country from tomorrow
- Warmer weather is on its way after the official arrival of Spring last week
- However large amounts of rain is forecasted to fall
Spring has officially arrived and it’s brought along warmer weather, as the mercury in the UK is set to hit 15C this week.
Nearly every county in the UK is forecast to experience temperatures above 10C in the coming days, but wet weather is also on the way.
While today many will have been greeted to a cold start with frost and showers – especially for areas along the northern and eastern coasts.
Over the next week, temperatures will begin to settle and on Thursday will rise comfortably into the teens, closer to the average for this time of the month.
But the Met Office has predicted heavy rain and strong winds for large parts of the UK on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The forecasted temperatures across the UK for Thursday shows highs of 15C, with most areas above 10C

Yesterday temperatures peaked across the UK at 13.6C in Plymouth, while the lowest temperature recorded was -3.7C in Altnaharra and Kinbrace, both north Scotland.
Today a few showers will take place across the coasts of east Scotland and east England, but it will be a largely dry day with sunny spells.
Light winds will persist but the weather will be largely pleasant despite colder air.
Tomorrow there will be cloud and rain extending across the UK by midday and becoming windy around coasts.
The Met Office forecasts that it will be brighter during the afternoon in some western parts. Temperatures will be near normal, bit in the east it will be colder.
There will be bands of rain moving east and north on Tuesday and Wednesday, and showery conditions quite widely by Thursday.

By the second week of April, it is likely to be drier across the north, albeit with some overnight frost.
Met Office meteorologist Honor Criswick said: ‘By Tuesday onwards things are turning milder each day and by Wednesday we could be seeing highs of 13 to 14C, perhaps up to 15C.
‘But from Thursday onwards it is wet and windy.’
She added: ‘It is generally remaining fairly unsettled with showers and longer spells of rain.
‘It is going to be mild at times but wet and windy, so you can’t really appreciate that milder weather.’
