With Halloween and Bonfire Night now firmly in the rear view mirror, pub chains and cafes across the UK have started to unveil their Christmas menus.

For anyone looking to grab a Christmas-themed meal after a frantic shop for last-minute gifts, supermarket chain Morrisons is serving Christmas-themed food across its cafés.

Tomato and Basil Soup, Prawn Cocktail and Mozzarella Dippers with a cranberry sauce are the picks for starters.
Its Classic Christmas Dinner has turkey accompanied by all the sides you would expect to see for such a dish: roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, a sage and onion stuffing ball, mashed potatoes, cauliflower cheese, seasonal vegetables, sprouts, a Yorkshire pudding, cranberry sauce and gravy.
Customers can finish with a pudding of chocolate fudge cake, lemon and mascarpone cheesecake or a traditional Christmas pudding.

Wetherspoon has released a festive menu that includes a Christmas dinner complete with all the trimmings.
Hundreds of Wetherspoon pubs will be serving the 2023 Christmas menu from Wednesday November 15 to Sunday December 31, excluding Christmas Day.
The dish comprises of turkey breast, pork, cranberry and apricot stuffing, roasted Chantenay carrots and parsnips, Maris piper mash, two pigs-in-blankets, peas, cranberry sauce and gravy.
This year, the Christmas dinner will cost diners £12.05 with a soft drink or £13.52 with an alcoholic beverage. In 2022, the Christmas dinner was £10.69 with a soft drink, or £11.99 with a glass of bubbly.
This signifies a rise of almost 13 per cent with or without alcohol for exactly the same meal compared to the previous year.
Brewers Fayre: £16.99
Another popular pub chain, Brewers Fayre has a slightly pricier Christmas menu compared to Wetherspoons.

Among the starters are a pulled beef filled Yorkshire pudding, Mac & Cheese Bites with a cranberry barbecue sauce and Chicken Liver & Brandy Pâte.
For mains, a Festive Turkey with all the trimmings will be a popular option for many hungry Brits, as will the Brewers Fayre Christmas burger.
This consists of turkey, bacon, pork sausage and cranberry mayonnaise in a ‘brioche style’ bun, served with skin-on chips and our signature red wine gravy.
Its Christmas menu was made available on Thursday November 9 and will be served until Sunday December 31.
Beefeater: £21.95

Starters include a cheddar, mozzarella and emmental cheese fondue, chicken liver and brandy pâté, festive chicken goujons, with a smoked salmon and prawn cocktail also there to choose from.
Billionaires Profiteroles, Traditional Christmas Pudding and a Chocolate Orange Sundae are among an array of puddings on offer.

Tom Kerridge: £215
The box does not contain any potatoes or vegetables, meaning families will have to buy these as extras
Chef Tom Kerridge has released a Christmas dinner kit to serve four at £215 – but buyers will have to cook it themselves and purchase vegetables, potatoes and extras such as stuffing or gravy.
The TV chef has increased the price of his delivery box – which can only be delivered on Monday December 22 and Tuesday December 23 – by £20 on last year meaning the cost works out at £53.75 per head.
His offering features a 30-day aged Hereford Beef Wellington with Duxelle and Herb Crepe, wrapped in an All Butter Puff Pastry, served with full-sized pigs in blankets and a red wine sauce.
It also contains a dessert consisting of sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and spiced brandy butter, added with salted caramel fudge to finish.
Heston Blumenthal (Fat Duck): £425

The Christmas menu by Heston Blumenthal at his Fat Duck restaurant which includes edible mould for dessert.
The nine-course festive menu – costing £425 and consisting of ‘minimalist food’ – includes classic Christmas-inspired dishes as well as Blumenthal’s famous wacky creations that are often served at the Bray, Berkshire eatery.
No turkey is on the menu, but instead guests will chomp down on a feast including roast scallops (served with chocolate) and King’s venison served with sprouts.
Other courses include ‘Nitro-Poached Aperitifs’.
This is followed by Pine Tonic of Botanicals – Green Herbs and Pine, Smoked Cumin, Jerusalem Artichoke.
The next is called Decorating the Tree – and consists of Truffled Egg, Smoked Salmon and Buttered Toast – Chicken Liver Parfait and Plum.
Langoustine Cocktail comes next – served with Marie Rose, Tomato, and Vanilla.
The fifth is Roast Scallops and Almond – Chocolate, Kombu, and Pickled Lemon.
Then comes Twas The Night Before Christmas – a short rib of beef, Lardo do Colonnata, dried fruits, Gold Carrot, and sherry.
King’s venison served with beetroot, chestnuts, brussels sprouts, black Truffle and umbles is next.
Finished off with cheese, nuts and port and Botrytis Cinerea.
The Fat Duck Christmas meals run from 29 November to 23 December.
