Celebrity agent whose clients include Katherine Ryan and Jamie Demetriou apologises for ‘naivety’ over social media posts about Hamas terror attack on Israel

A celebrity agent whose clients include comedians Katherine Ryan and Jamie Demetriou has apologised for being ‘naïve’ after reposting a string of offensive social media posts about the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel.
Kitty Laing, the head of comedy at talent agency United Artists whose other clients include James Corden and Keira Knightley, briefly deleted her account on X – formerly known as Twitter – after being called out before returning to apologise.
Her agency has ordered a ‘thorough investigation’ into the matter.
One post, which Laing reposted two days after the October 7 attack, which saw 1400 Israelis – mainly civilians – killed, read: ‘It feels like somehow the word settler has lost its meaning if it can be understood as ‘civilian’. Maybe a new phrase is needed like ‘settler paramilitary’.’
Another, about the bombing of the Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza, read: ‘Y’all were excited to repost the fake beheaded babies but these real babies now have mere hours left.’
Kitty Laing, the head of comedy at talent agency United Artists whose other clients include James Corden and Keira Knightley, came under fire for posts on X
After being called out on the social media platform, she swiftly deleted her account, before returning briefly to make a public apology
The posts were called out by Oscar-nominated comedy writer Lee Kern, whose friend’s family were made to watch their children being murdered while Hamas filmed their horrified reactions.
Exposing her tweets, he wrote: ‘Kitty has been on a wicked spree sharing hateful c**p promoting mockery of Jews murdered in terror attacks and conspiracies that currently Islamists and neo-Nazis are spreading online.’
He continued: ‘My friend was hospitalised this week. He collapsed from it all. His cousins were made to watch their own children murdered.
‘Hamas filmed their reactions & live streamed it. More [families] are kidnapped. But Kitty finds much to mock here.’
He added that ‘Kitty is the worst kind of person in this war’ and accused her of being ‘so ignorant that dead Jewish kids becomes a laugh.’
Fellow comic Josh Howie added: ‘Jew hate is rife in this industry. That Laing could proudly post this kind of bile to the entire entertainment industry and receive absolutely no pushback until now, tells you how deep the Jew hate has set.’
Comedian Katherine Ryan is among the many A-listers represented by Ms Laing
James Corden is also on the books at Ms Laing’s agency, as are other British stars such as Keira Knightley
Kitty briefly deleted her X account before posting an apology which said: ‘I would like to unreservedly apologise for my tweets on social media surround the horrendous attacks in Israel on October 7.

‘With hindsight, I realise how naïve I have been and that much of the information on social media surround the conflict is unsubstantiated and hurtful. I should have taken time to consider this beforehand.’
In a separate statement also on X, United Agents said: ‘We have been made aware of social media posts by one of our senior agents this morning. These are not the views of United Agents Ltd. We are conducting a full and thorough investigation into this.’
After Laing’s apology, Howie added: ‘As I’m blocked by Kitty Laing I’d just like to say in response: F*** You. I don’t want you to lose your job.
‘But do I think in the last 14 hours you’ve grappled at all with your hatred of Israelis and Jews, that your response is anything other than fear and self-interest? No.’
Laing’s account has since again been deleted.
