Two men who toured London in search of designer watches have been jailed for a total of 22 years.

Asonu McKenzie, 29, and Reshaun Nembhard, 29, both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery between May 25 and July 15 last year.

The designer watch robbers were both sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on August 18, with McKenzie receiving a 14-year jail term and Nembhard being jailed for eight years.

The pair where involved in 12 robberies across London of high value watches and were both jailed after a successful four-week manhunt by detectives.

Last summer over a two-moth period, a series of robberies were carried out in Lambeth, Southwark, Bromley, Croydon, Wandsworth and Hammersmith and Fulham.

The robbers would arrive in a silver Audi and drive around the area to locate their victims.

Once a victim was identified, they would be struck on the back of the head with a blunt object from behind. After they were stunned, they would have their watches stolen.

Injuries to the victims ranged from minor grazes and lacerations, to fractured skulls, with one person still under assessment for potentially losing his sight.

The investigation was led by detectives on the Robbery Investigation Team on the Central South BCU, with the team analysing hundreds of hours of CCTV footage to identify the Audi.
