Jill Biden comes out swinging at Donald Trump as Joe stays silent

In her first solo campaign event since President Joe Biden announced his bid for a second term in the White House, the First Lady didn’t hold back.

As her husband repeatedly refuses to comment on his predecessor’s criminal charges, Jill criticized Trump’s supporters for backing the former president through his federal indictment.

‘They don’t care about the indictment. So that’s a little shocking, I think,’ she said to Democratic donors at the Upper East Side home of Barry Ginsburg and his wife Merle in Manhattan.

Trump’s polling numbers hit 61% – while flagging DeSantis sits at just 23%, in first survey taken since indictment

Donald Trump’s legal woes do not appear to have affected his popularity among Republican voters in the first survey taken since his indictment.

Trump’s team are looking to harness the amount of attention being placed on the presidential candidate and are hoping to steer narrative of the legal drama in their favor, by any means possible.

Even Trump has boasted that the indictment boosted his numbers with the latest CBS News poll putting Trump at 61 percent and DeSantis flagging at 23 percent.

The poll also suggests just 7 percent of likely Republican primary voters would have their view of Trump negatively affected by the indictment – with 80 percent believing that Trump should be able to serve even if convicted.

Former president will deliver remarks back in New Jersey after arraignment

A press release has revealed that Donald Trump will deliver remarks from his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, at 8.15pm after his court appearance in Miami.

It follows a similar plan to his speech at Mar-a-Lago following his indictment in Manhattan earlier this year.

Trump cut a relaxed figure on the eve of his federal indictment

Donald Trump looked relaxed and cheerful on the eve of his federal indictment, posing happily for photos with supporters and giving the thumbs up as he headed for dinner.

The 76-year-old arrived at his resort in Doral, a suburb of Miami, at around 3pm and was spotted heading to meetings with his advisors.

At 7pm he came down to the lobby for dinner in the hotel’s restaurant with his son Eric.

Trump smiled with fans and posed for photos, asking them about their line of work and thanking them for their support.

Donald Trump will appear at the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. U.S. Courthouse, 12 miles from Doral, at 3pm this afternoon.

The former president will be taken into custody and officially notified of the 37 counts against him.

As with his April arrest in Manhattan, Trump is not expected to be put in handcuffs, and a mugshot is not thought to be taken.

It remains unclear whether he will be expected to enter a plea. His lawyers have already said he will plead not guilty.

Chief US District Judge Cecilia Altonaga informed reporters that they were not allowed to bring cell phones into the courthouse.

Meanwhile, US Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman had earlier denied a separate request for the hearing to be televised.

Trump’s arraignment, which comes one day before his 77th birthday, is the first time in U.S. history that a former president has been charged with federal crimes.

The 37 federal charges against the 2024 candidate were unsealed last week in a bombshell indictment.

Of the 37 counts against Trump, 31 of them relate to secret and top secret classified documents that he kept after leaving the White House in early 2021.

The remaining charges center on his alleged efforts to hide classified information from investigators.

Donald Trump arrived in Miami yesterday ahead of his arraignment this afternoon

Former president Donald Trump arrived in Miami on Monday afternoon ahead of his sensational federal arraignment on 37 felony counts later today.

The Republican 2024 frontrunner gave a wave as he stepped off Trump Force One in Florida ahead of his showdown with a judge at 3pm.

A group of supporters wearing MAGA hats and waving banners lined up Trump National Doral hotel in Miami, where he is staying overnight, to give him a hero’s welcome before his second arraignment in three months.

Local law enforcement say they are anticipating up to 50,000 protestors at Trump’s arraignment.

The former president is facing 37 federal charges according to a bombshell indictment unsealed on Friday detailing how he left sensitive files scattered over Mar-a-Lago and allegedly instructed his attorneys to lie to investigators.
