Eco-warrior Greta Thunberg laughs in court after arrest at protest outside conference in London | The Sun

ECO-warrior Greta Thunberg is facing trial after she was arrested at a protest outside a London hotel.

The climate activist, 20, was led away by cops from the demonstration at the five-star InterContinental Park Lane in October.

A protest had been taking place against the Energy Intelligence Forum (EIF).

Thunberg appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court today alongside four other Fossil Free London eco-zealots.

The group denied breaching Section 14 of the Public Order Act 1986 by blocking the entrance to the hotel.

Thunberg was seen laughing and smiling as the hearing took place.

She spoke only to confirm her not guilty plea and confirm her name, and date of birth.

Her full address in Sweden was not read to the court due to concerns over alleged threats she has received.

The group, who arrived at court to a throng of Greenpeace and Fossil Free London protesters gathered outside, were given unconditional bail ahead of a trial on February 1.

Thunberg and dozens of other activists chanted "oily money out" and attempted to block access to the luxury hotel on October 17.
