They may have lost out to Australia in the Netball World Cup final – but that didn’t stop England’s Roses from celebrating like champions.
After having to settle for silver on Sunday, the team enjoyed a raucous night out in Cape Town.
Sharing videos on their Instagram accounts, players were seen swigging champagne from paper cups at the stadium before moving on to a bar where they downed shots and sang along to Robbie Williams’ hits.
Goal shooter Eleanor Cardwell, 28, was joined by her sister Elizabeth, who had travelled to South Africa to watch her play, with the pair pictured arm in arm.
Goal attack Helen Housby, 28, who was named player of the tournament, posted videos of her teammates belting out Oasis hit Live Forever.
England’s Chelsea Pitman, 35, was later seen looking a little worse for wear – eating pizza in bed after spilling champagne over her medal

England’s Chelsea Pitman, 35, was later seen looking a little worse for wear – eating pizza in bed after spilling champagne over her medal.
But she was up bright and early the next day for the team’s media commitments – athough she admitted to being a bit ‘hung bung’, which drew a groan from coach Jess Thirlby.
It was the first time that England had made it to Netball World Cup final. But the Aussies – now 12-time champions – were too good, winning 61-45.
The night out was a world away from how the Roses had prepared for their historic final match.
Laura Malcolm, 32, told how the team completed jigsaws together while listening to classical jazz.
