The estranged wife of transgender rapist Isla Bryson has today expressed her ‘delight’ at the news that Nicola Sturgeon has quit over the SNP’s controversial Gender Recognition Reform bill.
‘She shot herself in the foot over and over again, and I’m delighted she’s gone,’ said Shonna Graham, who is still married to the serial sex attacker once known as Adam Graham, who decided to identify as a woman by the name of Isla Bryson after being accused of rape.
‘I’m all in favour of transgender rights, but this policy went too far and ended up putting a rapist, who still had all his bits, in a woman’s prison,’ said mother-of-one Shonna, 31.
The infamous Bryson case last month exposed a flaw at the heart of the SNP policy, which would allow anyone over 16 to ‘self-identify’ as the opposite sex without needing medical diagnosis of gender dysphoria.
And although Isla Bryson was later transferred from a female to a male prison for assessment, First Minister Sturgeon refused to back down on her party’s policy which set the Scottish government on a collision course with Westminster.

Shonna said she had voted SNP in the past but might change her vote in light of the ongoing controversy surrounding her former husband
Last month Shonna told the Mail how she endured a year of ‘controlling’ behaviour at the hands of Bryson, then Graham, during which time the abusive partner allegedly stabbed her in the hip with a knife and ‘tried to rape her.’

Today, Shonna from Motherwell, said of the breaking news from Holyrood: ‘It was only a matter of time – people, even a lot of those who voted SNP – could see this policy was nuts, and Adam only changed sex to get an easier time in prison.
‘But more generally, surely anyone can see that if a convicted rapist still has his sexual organs intact, he should never be sent to a woman’s prison. He did the crime as a man, he should do the time as a man in a big boy’s jail.

Shonna Graham the policy, which ‘ended up putting a rapist, who still had all his bits, in a woman’s prison’ had gone too far
‘The whole policy has been nothing but a disaster and this case showed exactly why. It all went too far.
‘If you’re genuinely born in the wrong body, you should be able to transition, but an opportunist like him who was playing the system, shouldn’t be allowed to get away with it.
‘The SNP shot themselves in the foot a long time ago when they came up with this policy which made transition too easy, but Sturgeon’s problem was she just kept on shooting.’
Shonna added she has voted for SNP in the past ‘but now I think I’ll change my mind’.
