A man has been caught on camera deliberately ramming his car into a $300,000 sculpture in Florida.
Derek Alan Modrok, 49, drove his car into artist Hunt Slonem’s blue ‘Thunderbunny’ sculpture on Sunday morning, barely a week after it arrived in Wilton Manors.
Surveillance footage of the collision shows Modrok driving his red car off the road, onto the grass verge and straight into the 13ft artwork which is on loan to the city.
After being arrested Modrok admitted to multiple acts of vandalism around the city, which cops say were carried out to spite the city’s former mayor.

In the footage the bunny sculpture, which is covered in a mosaic of blue glass, is left shaking on its plinth before the vandal pulls his car over and checks for damage.
Modrok walks round to the front of his car, assesses the damage on the bonnet before refitting his bumper that fell off in the collision and fleeing the scene.
Police responded to a vandalism call at Justin Flippen Park on Wilton Drive around 11:15 am on Sunday and quickly found the vehicle and arrested the driver.
Modrok admitted to multiple acts of vandalism across the city, including against a sign at Justin Flippen Park on May 16 and a popsicle statue at Rachel Richardson Park on May 18, police said.
The motive, police explained, appeared to be a grudge against former Wilton Manors Mayor Justin Flippen, who the park is named after.
Modrok told police he vandalized the statue because Flippen was responsible for the birds that we hear.
He has previously served three years for selling cocaine, the Daily Beast reported.
‘It’s very disappointing and shocking,’ sculptor Hunt Slonem told NBC.
‘The point of the sculpture is to make people joyous and celebrate life.’

Adding: ‘Really pretty strange that someone would want to do this, it’s just a lot of effort that is tragically wasted, it can probably be repaired to some degree, but it’s a metal base and will never be the same.’
Officials are now considering how the sculpture will be repaired.
