A MAN has been caught in a split after his strange money-saving hack was exposed to the internet.
The mystery Aussie man was filmed peeling his bananas before weighing them at the supermarket to save money – and it's sent TikTok into a frenzy.
It was the man's partner, who goes by @savingforboba, who decided to let the world know about his stingy shopping habit, and in doing so, exposed him to a bunch of ridicule.
She films him in the act, with the caption: "How my frugal boyfriend saves money on his bananas".
"The second-hand embarrassment though," she added.
In the video, which has been viewed over 800k times, the man is busy carefully unwrapping each individual banana before placing them on a scanner.

The now skin-less bananas are – thankfully – kept in a plastic bag.
Banana peels help to keep the fruit fresh and clean until you want to eat it.
It is unclear whether the boyfriend planned to eat them right away or attempt to store them somehow, but the trolls didn't care.
The viral TikTok attracted a lot of attention by disgusted viewers offering relationship advice to the woman.

"Break up with him and call the cops," one plainly states.
Another offers: "Major red flag, get out of that relationship ASAP!"
"Save yourself the pain and suffering now. Leave him," writes a third.
However, there were a few viewers that championed the man's action as nifty.
"Imagine if you buy many bananas how much money you can save," says one.
Another writes: "Dude will have more money than all of us. Very smart man."
Last year, a supermarket in Australia was forced to respond after a TikToker went viral for removing broccoli stems to save weight at the checkout.
They put up an aggressive sign that read: "ATT customers. You must not break the stems of broccoli.
"This classes as theft. All broccoli purchases will be checked at the registers."
