Matt Hancock is a contender for the title of Parliament’s number one TikTok personality – despite growing security fears over the Chinese social media app.
The former health secretary, pictured, has posted 90 times since launching his account in 2020.
Mr Hancock, 44, resigned from the Cabinet in 2021 in disgrace after he admitted breaching Covid restrictions with aide Gina Coladangelo.
But his popularity took an unexpected upturn after his appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year.
He has more than 184,000 followers on TikTok and a combined 1.6 million likes.

The MP’s posts regularly surpass 100,000 views. A recent video of him tossing a pancake got half a million views. Another of him wearing a Newcastle United shirt ahead of the Carabao Cup Final got more than a million.
According to the Mail on Sunday, friends of Mr Hancock see his recent online exposure as a way to show the public ‘the man behind the podium’.
‘I do sort of comedy – well, I think it’s funny – and then serious stuff as well,’ Mr Hancock told the Mirror last week.
After closing his personal app in January, which debuted in 2018, Mr Hancock urged fans to ‘fear not’ and add him on TikTok instead.
Mr Hancock’s decision to shut down his app after five years came shortly after he announced he would stand down as West Suffolk MP at the next election.
Other MPs with TikTok accounts include Tory Dehenna Davison and Labour’s Zara Sultana, who has the biggest following in the Commons with 440,000 followers.
