THE dad of a young boy who drowned in a pool while on a family holiday has paid tribute to his "wee superhero" son.
Corey Aughey, 6, from Belfast died after being found in pool at the four-star hotel in Sa Coma, Majorca, Spain last summer.
Corey was on the first day of a holiday with his parents at the hotel when fell into the pool.
Corey's dad Colin said young lad Corey was a "wee superhero" and described how to tragedy took place.
He told Belfast Live: "We got there on the Thursday morning, checked in and went to the pool. We then had something to eat, and I went up for a doze.
"There was only about an hour left of the pool being open, so Leanne brought the kids round to the back pool.
"He would have been running over to the wee drink machine – we were all inclusive so he thought it was great he could get free Coke.
"Corey was found in the pool, and was taken out and people were working on him at the poolside."
CPR was performed on Corey and he was rushed to hospital. But days later, after no brain activity was found, Corey passed away,
Corey's family are now working to set up a charity in his name in Northern Ireland.

Colin said: "Corey loved his superheroes, he was just so innocent. He was always talking about heroes, so through the Corey Aughey Foundation, he will be a hero."
The dad said Corey will be remembered for being the "life and soul of the party" and always the "last one dancing" at birthday parties.
After the tragedy last summer, tributes poured in across Northern Ireland and abroad.
The 45th Belfast Scout Group said: “This is extremely sad news and the thoughts and prayers of everyone connected to the 45th are with his family at this heart breaking time.
“Corey will be fondly remembered by his Beaver Leaders as being fun loving, always smiling and full of enthusiasm. We will miss him so much.
“Beaver parents have already been informed. Pastoral support has kindly been offered by our District Commissioner so if you feel a leader or young person would like to avail of this, please let me know."
