A NAVY sailor is being accused of murdering his wife in a jealous rage before setting their home on fire, court documents show.
George Dodson, 23, allegedly beat his wife to death with a hammer and set their Connecticut home ablaze where their baby son lay inside, police said.
Fire officials responded to reports of a structure fire in New London at around 10.30pm Wednesday.
Crews worked to extinguish the flames and heavy smoke when they found a 22-year-old woman on the first floor of the home.
Firefighters extracted her from the blaze where she was declared dead on the scene.
The victim's identity is being withheld until next of kin is notified of her death.
