SHOCKING footage shows a gymgoer attempting a dangerous weightlifting move – as he’s called out for his "stupid exercise" by a bodybuilding legend.
Rich Gaspari took to Instagram to share the bizarre footage of a young weightlifter's epic – and near-fatal – fail.
The video shows the boy standing in gym wear with a barbell and fixer around his neck.
This dangerous combination of equipment is also paired with a chain that he wears around his neck which has another two smaller weights attached to it.
He then struggles to lower himself to the ground before shakily picking up a third set of weights.
After he manages to get himself down to a low enough level, he “stupidly” attempts to do a deadlift.

As he begins to lift, he loses his balance and desperately strains his neck in a weak attempt to keep the weights around his shoulders steady.
But he fails miserably as the barbell on his shoulder almost snaps off his neck as he topples over backwards.
Not only did the gym user fall into the metal equipment behind him, but the barbell on his shoulder slammed into the side of his neck causing him to fall at full force to the ground.
The fixer around his neck ended up giving him a blow to his jaw and cheek as he let go of the weights in his hands and tumbles ridiculously onto his back.

Even though gym fails are extremely popular among social media users, gymgoers are regularly urged to follow gym rules and safety measures to ensure they do not seriously injure themselves or others using the equipment.
Workout machinery should only be used as they’re intended to avoid severe injury.
