I own ‘world’s biggest’ poodle who weighs as much as a 12-year-old boy and is 5ft tall…we didn’t think he’d get so big | The Sun

PROUD dog mum Giseli Campos says she owns the world's biggest poodle — a 5ft tall pooch who weighs as much as a 12-year-old boy.

Bredy is the giant version of the Standard Poodle breed, and was adopted when still a tiny puppy in Chapeco, Brazil.

He joined the family shortly after his arriving after his brother Guci did – a small poodle.

But Giseli didn't think Bredy would become 10 times heavier than his furry sibling, weighing an impressive 66lbs.

That's the same weight of a 12-year-old boy, according to Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

"When we adopted Bredy, we already knew he would be big, but it seems he grew a little more than expected", Giseli said.

Professor and veterinarian Maria Cecília Bernart said Bredy's size is within the expected range for the Poodle Standard breed of German origin.

On four legs, these dogs can reach 1.9ft from the withers – the height from the ground to the region between the shoulders and neck.

Bredy was described as a very sociable and calm pooch, as well as very affectionate.

He also enjoys going on his daily walkies with Giseli and Guci.

"He and his brother are very close, they can't stay away from each other.

"Guci, despite his small size, is actually the one who protects Bredy and puts order in the house," the pet owner joked.

Bredy shares an Instagram account with Guci and, together, they have 70,000 followers.

All thanks to a viral video showing the giant poodle's reaction to being scolded by his owners.

Giseli added that their social media account also helps raise awareness to "important causes".

"The most important thing of all is being able to use his profile, due to his visibility, to help many NGOs and bring joy to many people, both in Brazil and in other countries," she said.

It comes after fellow dog lover Dylan Walsh probably owns Britain's biggest dog – a 7ft 2in giant who weighs more than 18 stone.

Dylan calls Abu his “house horse” but the two-year-old Turkish Malakli could yet put on another 5st — because he is far from full grown.

He demolishes 10lbs of meat a day, often munching two whole chickens for his tea, which costs Dylan £400 a month.

Dog trainer Dylan, 33, spent £7,500 to fly Abu over from Turkey when he was four months old — and already the size of an adult Labrador.

He lives with Dylan, his partner Naomi and their kids India, five, and Reuben, four, in the family’s four-bed semi in Redcar, North Yorks.

Dylan said: “If he decides to flop on the settee, there’s not much we can do about it but it leaves no room for anyone else! It’s like having a house horse.

“He fills the room when he walks into it but we wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s a lovely, gentle dog.”

Meanwhile, Jamal Miah says his pet is so big that people mistake it for a lion and sheepishly cross the road when the pair go for walkies.

The 6ft Central Asian Shepherd named Kenzo was adopted by the East Londoner after his friend had to give him away due to his huge size.

When on his hind legs, the three-year-old hound stands at 6ft and weighs in at 187lb – and it also costs an arm and a leg to feed him.

Despite his imposing stature, it was love at first sight for the pair who formed an "inseparable bond".

Jamal said: "We saw him and said 'oh my god'
