A WOMAN who tears her tree down on Christmas Day every year while her kids are in bed has hit back at trolls.
Georgia Schofield, from Hartlepool, took to TikTok to share how she gets rid of all the decorations on the big day.
In a viral TikTok clip, Georgia appears packing up the tree in a box and completely cleaning up the room from festive joy.
The mum-of-two explained she gets rid of the Christmas lights because her daughter's birthday is on the same day.
She said: “I take the tree and the other decorations down and replace them with Ava’s birthday stuff.
“Of course, I do it when the kids are in bed.

“I’ve been doing this for the past four years, this year will be the fifth.
“It’s a lot easier for me if it’s kept simple so it’s easy to put away, as I’m a single parent so I do it all on my own.”
Although the decorations are removed before the end of the festive season, Georgia said that she still enjoys Christmas.
She said: “I absolutely love it because I get to see the excitement from the kids opening their presents and they love to help decorate the tree."

However, her video has sparked fierce criticism from Christmas enthusiasts who slammed the mum for her actions.
One user said: “I don’t see why that means the tree has to come down.
Another used wrote: “Why not just change it to a birthday tree.”
Another user added “My birthday is the 27th and I’d cry if my mom took all the Christmas stuff down.”
But the mum defended her choice and said her children are used to not having a tree on Boxing Day.
She added: “My family and friends understand why I do it but when I went viral online for it I did get mixed opinions, which is to be expected.
“I’ve been told I’m spiteful as it’s not fair on my youngest for taking the tree down."
Despite the criticism, Georgia said she is still sticking to her ritual for the upcoming years.
She added: “I don’t really let negativity get me down. Don’t get me wrong when it gets personal it does get to me because I’m being judged off people who don’t know me or my life.
“You can’t please everyone but the way I see it is it’s my life and I’ll do what I want to do whether people like it or not.”
